Promenade West is a six floor, 135 unit building that was built in 1981, one of many byproducts of the redevelopment of the Bunker Hill area in Los Angeles. The area's original incarnation was a cluster of elegant Victorian homes, and the desire was to preserve that reputation; thus, the construction of the Promenade West, a luxury condominium development.

It is the sister building to Promenade (also known as Promenade East), a complex that shares virtually all of the same ethos in purpose and design.[1]

In addition, it is located close to a wealth of attractions, including the Staples Center and Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles County (otherwise known as the Music Center), giving residents many reasons to get out and enjoy LA.[2]

The famed Staples Center

Located in the Bunker Hill area of downtown Los Angeles, Promenade West finds itself in the heart of a vibrant, busy neighborhood.

There are a myriad of restaurants and coffee shops nearby, in addition to a number of retail businesses and services. Many are within walking distance of Promenade West, but there are also multiple bus stops that are close by should the resident need them. For those who follow professional sports, there is easy access to the Staples Center, home of the Lakers/Clippers of the NBA and the Kings of the NHL.

If one feels the urge to take in a concert or recital, however, the Music Center is nearby as well, featuring such acts as the Los Angeles Opera and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.[3] There are also a number of schools in the nearby area as well.

Fountain outside the building

Promenade West is a traditional condominium in many ways, albeit one that is very luxurious and upscale. Eschewing the heavy use of steel and glass in favor of more contemporary concrete for the exterior, the building nevertheless has many small touches that make for a pleasing appearance, such as the tiling of the lobby, the fountain that sits outside Promenade West, and the terraces and balconies that offer excellent views.

Layout and Features

The units of Promenade West range from one to four bedrooms, with most of the units possessing open air terraces and patios. The units range in size from 992 to 3012 square feet. Certain units also come with arched glass ceilings for a more upscale look. The individual finish of each unit will vary.

Promenade West also features an exercise room, garden courtyards and a community room for the use of the residents.[4]

Floor Plans

Floor plans for Promenade West have unfortunately not been made public, although there is video footage which provides a solid glimpse into the building's structure and design.
